Charterd a bus for my mom's birthday to Nordic Lodge

I was very pleased with EMV tours. I chartered a bus with them from Hempstead, Long Island to Nordic Lodge in Rhode Island. While booking, Marcos was pleasant and professional. There was even a point when I thought I had to cancel because a few people could not go at the last minute but he was so accommodating and worked with me to make my mom's trip a success. My driver Marcel was great and patient. He got us there and back safely and the bus was bigger than we expected so we were all very comfortable. I will definitely use them again in the future and I recommend to all.

we had commissioned this company for a trip from NJ to Maryland. Upon arrival to the meeting area where we were to board the bus that was waiting was
1. not the one promised
2. air conditioner was not functioning
3. bus seats actually had duct tape on some of them.
I should mention that our trip took place on the hottest day of the summer topping around 100 degrees. The driver stated he had just turned on the air and that by the time we got to the highway it would be extremely cold and we would probably ask to lower it and chuckled. after all guest boarded which were around 20+ the bus did not cool down as a matter of fact it got hotter we reached the highway and I asked the driver if had notified his boss since it was so hot the driver stated that yes he did and is awaiting a response. Needless to say several stops later since we actually had to get off to cool down at the rest stops no real response. We asked if after we get to Maryland they would swap out the bus for one with a working AC and as per the driver it will be cooler by the time we return so it wont be as hot. Several passenger did get nauseated even with keeping hydrated.
needless to say the company was not accommodating even after knowing that the AC was not working. we had 2 stops one at the harbor for some sightseeing which we did not do since we had to keep stopping to cool off and ensure the passengers didn't get sick on the bus one actually did. We were taken to the final destination of the trip and had to notify the driver that we were to first stop at the harbor which again cause another flare up of calls to the owner.
Will never use this company again nor recommend.
and yes we did tip the driver very well.

No AC and Wrong Stop

On Aug 13th around 1pm (a half hour after the bus departed Passaic) I received several calls and texts from my clients stating that the A/C is not working. I contacted the owner Marcos Vaz via text alerting him of this and asking what can be done. About a half hour later, I reached out again to him. He sent a text response stating "There's noting wrong with the A/C. its over 100 degrees outside. You will see the difference tonight on the way back when the temperature drops. My driver called me and told me about the issue" I then checked in with my clients again and was told that the bus is very hot. Hot enough for the driver to make a safety stop in Delaware for clients to buy drinks and cool off.

After the stop, the bus continued to Maryland. About 5 pm I received several calls stating that the bus driver went to Michaels Eighth Avenue. The itinerary I submitted and was received by Mr. Vaz stated that the bus would go to the Baltimore Inner Harbor first for two hours then to Michaels Eighth Avenue. I had someone on the bus speak with the driver about the mix-up. The driver stated that the owner creates the trip sheets and that was was put on the sheet. I called the owner Mr. Vaz and spoke with him about this. He told me that he went off the final points on the contract and stated that he never received my itinerary. I quickly pulled up my email and forwarded Mr. Vaz his confirmation email stating that he did in fact receive my itinerary. Mr. Vaz stated that he would direct the driver to take the group to the Inner Harbor.

The bus arrived at to the Inner Harbor around 5:30. I boarded the bus and my clients were very unhappy because of the lack of A/C and now they did not have the two hours that was promised at the Inner Harbor. In response to the complaints, I bought water, ice cream, and a drink from the Hard Rock CafΓ©.

On the return ride home, I received several messages that the A/C cut off after about 30 minutes. It was a very hot ride back home for the group.

I contacted Mr. Vaz on Aug 15 2016 to discuss this issue. He told me that the A/C was working and that my guest were not being truthful. He also stated that there was no way for us to receive a full or partial refund.

Marcos was great to work with. He always returned my calls and was very accommodating when we had to change our plans. The bus came on time and everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend this company.

Marcos and his staff are great, I used them several times this year and will continue to use them!! The buses are in good condition, staff was professional and accommodating. I would recommend EMV to all my friends and family.
